Cristiano Ronaldo, star of the Saudi Al-Nasr Club, rushed to help with the ongoing rescue efforts in Morocco following the deadly earthquake that devastated the country yesterday, Friday, at 11:11 p.m.

According to the Earthquake Hazards Program, the earthquake measured 6.8 on the Richter scale and had its epicenter in the southwest of the tourist city of Marrakesh, 320 kilometers south of the capital, Rabat.

So far, the earthquake has resulted in over 1,000 deaths and hundreds of injuries, as well as extensive material damage.

Ronaldo ordered that his hotel on the outskirts of Marrakesh be converted into a shelter for earthquake victims.

After spending hours in the streets of Marrakesh, those affected attempted to find any shelter to spend the night in.

One of the earthquake victims said, “We had to come to the new area in Marrakesh, where there are more luxury hotels.”

She added, “We were able to turn to Cristiano Ronaldo’s hotel, which is located on the outskirts of the city, to give us a room.”

Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star from Egypt, also expressed empathy with people affected by the tragic earthquake that devastated Morocco. Salah tweeted via his “X” platform account, “Oh God, protect Morocco and its people.”

Morocco’s match against Liberia in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers has been postponed, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
